How to Use the Villager Trading Chart
1. Choose a Profession
Click on any profession to filter the chart to just that villager type. Each profession has a unique workstation block — place it near an unemployed villager to assign the job. For example, place a Lectern for a Librarian or a Composter for a Farmer.
2. Browse by Level
Villagers start as Novice and can level up to Master through trading. Filter by level to see what trades unlock at each tier. Each trade with a villager gives them experience — trade enough and they'll promote to the next level, revealing new items.
3. Search for Specific Items
Use the search bar to find specific items across all professions. Looking for diamond armor? Search "diamond" to see which professions sell it and at what level. Searching "emerald" shows all trades where emeralds are involved.
4. Apply Discounts
Use the discount dropdown to see adjusted prices. In Java Edition, curing a zombie villager up to 5 times drastically reduces prices. Combine with Hero of the Village (from defeating a raid) for nearly everything at 1 emerald.
Minecraft Villager Trading Guide
Best Trades for Emeralds
The most efficient way to farm emeralds is through renewable resources. A Fletcher buys 32 sticks for 1 emerald — sticks are trivially renewable from tree farms. Farmers buy wheat, carrots, and potatoes from auto-farms. Librarians buy paper from sugar cane farms.
For maximum efficiency, create a villager trading hall with multiple villagers of the same profession, so when one runs out of stock, you can trade with the next.
Getting Specific Enchanted Books
Librarians sell enchanted books at every level. The enchantment is randomized when the villager first gets the profession. To get a specific enchantment like Mending, place a lectern near an unemployed villager, check their trade, and if it's wrong, break and replace the lectern.
This only works before your first trade. After any trade, the villager's offers are permanently locked.
Zombie Villager Curing
In Java Edition, curing a zombie villager gives permanent discounts. Splash a Weakness potion on a zombie villager, then feed it a golden apple. After 3-5 minutes it converts back. Repeat up to 5 times for maximum discount — most items drop to 1 emerald.
In Bedrock Edition, curing still works but discounts don't stack the same way. You get a one-time discount that eventually wears off.
Workstation Blocks
Each profession requires a specific workstation. The villager must be able to pathfind to it. Key blocks: Lectern (Librarian), Composter (Farmer), Blast Furnace (Armorer), Grindstone (Weaponsmith), Smithing Table (Toolsmith), Brewing Stand (Cleric), Smoker (Butcher), Barrel (Fisherman), Fletching Table (Fletcher), Cartography Table (Cartographer), Loom (Shepherd), Stonecutter (Mason), Cauldron (Leatherworker).
