What is a UUID?
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a permanent identifier assigned to each Minecraft account. Unlike usernames, which can change, UUIDs remain constant and are used by servers to identify players regardless of name changes.

About Minecraft UUIDs
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit identifier that Mojang assigns to every Minecraft account. UUIDs were introduced in Minecraft 1.7.6 to solve problems with username changes - since usernames can be changed, servers needed a permanent way to identify players.
UUID Format
Minecraft UUIDs follow the standard UUID v3 format. They are typically displayed with dashes in the format:
xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxSome systems use the "trimmed" format without dashes.
Why UUIDs Matter
- Player data persists through name changes
- Permissions and bans stay with the player
- Economy and stats remain linked to accounts
- Prevents impersonation after name changes

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change my UUID?
No, your UUID is permanently assigned to your Minecraft account and cannot be changed. Only your username can be changed.
Do Bedrock players have UUIDs?
Yes, but Bedrock Edition uses Xbox Live GamerTags and XUIDs (Xbox User IDs), which are different from Java Edition UUIDs.
What's the difference between full and trimmed UUID?
The full UUID includes dashes (36 characters), while the trimmed version removes them (32 characters). Both represent the same ID.
Why can't I find a player?
The player may not exist, or you might have misspelled the username. Note that this tool only works with Java Edition accounts.
