Skin Formats Supported

Our viewer supports all Minecraft skin formats including the classic 64x32 format, the modern 64x64 format with overlay layers, and HD skins at resolutions up to 512x512. Both Steve (wide) and Alex (slim) arm models are fully supported.

Steve Model (Classic)

The original Minecraft skin model with 4-pixel wide arms. This is the default model used since Minecraft's early days. Most classic skins use this format.

How do I view someone's Minecraft skin?

Enter their Minecraft Java Edition username in the search box and click "Load". The skin viewer will fetch their current skin and display it in 3D.

Can I view Bedrock Edition skins?

This viewer is designed for Java Edition skins. You can upload any PNG skin file to preview it regardless of edition.

What are skin layers?

Modern Minecraft skins have two layers: inner (base skin) and outer (overlays for hats, jackets, etc). Toggle them to see what's underneath.

Why doesn't the cape show up?

Only players with official Minecraft capes (MineCon, Mojang employees, etc.) will have capes displayed. You can upload your own cape to preview.

How do I download a Minecraft skin?

After loading a skin, click the download button in the viewer toolbar. This will download the skin PNG file that you can use in Minecraft.

Can I preview my own custom skin?

Yes! Use the "Upload Skin PNG" button to load any skin file from your computer. Perfect for testing skins before applying them.

What's the difference between cape and elytra mode?

Cape mode shows the traditional flowing cape. Elytra mode displays the cape texture on elytra wings, as seen when flying in-game.
