How to Use Your Whitelist

  1. 1Download the whitelist.json file
  2. 2Upload it to your server's root directory
  3. 3Set white-list=true in server.properties
  4. 4Run /whitelist reload or restart the server

Pro Tip:

Enable enforce-whitelist=true to immediately kick non-whitelisted players when you reload the whitelist, instead of waiting for them to reconnect.

About Minecraft Server Whitelists

What is a Whitelist?

A whitelist is a list of approved players who are allowed to join your Minecraft server. When enabled, only players on the list can connect, keeping your server private and secure.

The whitelist is stored in a file called whitelist.json in your server's root directory. Each entry contains the player's username and their unique UUID.

Why Use UUIDs?

Minecraft uses UUIDs (Universally Unique Identifiers) to track players, not usernames. This means players stay whitelisted even if they change their username.

Our tool automatically fetches the correct UUID from Mojang's servers, ensuring your whitelist works correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enable the whitelist?

Set white-list=true in your server.properties file, or use the /whitelist on command in-game.

Can I add players while the server is running?

Yes! Use /whitelist add username to add players in-game, or upload a new whitelist.json and run /whitelist reload.

What does enforce-whitelist do?

When enabled, players who are removed from the whitelist are immediately kicked from the server. Without it, they stay connected until they leave and try to rejoin.

Does this work with offline-mode servers?

Offline-mode (cracked) servers use different UUIDs. This tool fetches official Mojang UUIDs, so it's designed for online-mode (premium) servers.
