Garry's Mod is Facepunch's 2006 sandbox-mod-turned-franchise — the Source-engine playground that invented DarkRP, Trouble in Terrorist Town, Murder, Prop Hunt, and countless community gamemodes. Twenty years in, the community is still writing new gamemodes weekly and the Workshop has half a million addons.
Our Garry's Mod template ships with Steam Workshop addon auto-sync (paste Workshop collection IDs, we resolve them and keep clients synced), ULX/ULib admin preinstalled, and one-click installers for DarkRP, TTT, Murder, Sandbox, and other popular gamemodes. Custom Lua gamemodes upload via the panel's file manager.
Gmod scales with gamemode complexity. Sandbox servers with 16 players run comfortably in 4 GB RAM; DarkRP servers with 64 players and heavy addon stacks benefit from 12–16 GB. Single-thread CPU performance is the bottleneck — Gmod's Lua runs on the main thread. Our Ryzen 9 nodes stay stable during 64-player DarkRP prime-time.
