ARK: Survival Ascended is Studio Wildcard's Unreal Engine 5 remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved — same dinosaur taming, base building, and tribe PvP, rebuilt on modern rendering and engine systems. Released in late 2023 with a staggered map release schedule (The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, The Center, Ragnarok, Extinction), it's now the current ARK for most communities. Server caps are officially 70 players; cluster setups span multiple servers sharing an economy for larger tribes.
ASA modding moved off Steam Workshop onto CurseForge — a mixed blessing of more robust versioning at the cost of easy browsing. Our panel's mod manager resolves CurseForge mod IDs and auto-installs them; no more hand-editing Game.ini mod lists. The template ships with the correct crossplay configuration for Steam (PC) and Xbox Game Pass clients out of the box. PlayStation ASA servers use separate infrastructure.
ASA is RAM-hungry. Studio Wildcard officially recommends 16 GB minimum for 70-player official-size servers; in practice, 24–32 GB is where ASA stops tick-spiking on busy worlds with multiple tribes and heavy base construction. CPU scales with entity count (every dino ticks). We run ASA on Ryzen 9 7950X / 9950X with 32 GB nodes as the baseline; Dedicated plans offer 64 GB for community clusters.
