About the game

About 7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die is The Fun Pimps' voxel zombie survival sim — more than a decade in Early Access before finally hitting 1.0 in 2024, with current-gen console versions following shortly after. Every 7th night brings a horde that tests your base; the signature loop is 'build harder, survive longer.' Dedicated servers support up to 32 players with full crossplay between PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

The overhaul mod scene is 7DTD's real strength. Darkness Falls adds classes, bosses, and endgame; Undead Legacy reworks crafting and looting; Ravenhearst overhauls survival difficulty. Our 7DTD template supports all three as selectable options — we handle the pre-download and config alignment that usually takes community guides to set up.

7DTD is CPU-heavy on horde nights: hundreds of zombie AI pathfinding simultaneously through destructible voxel terrain. Our Ryzen 9 nodes stay stable during 32-player horde nights where budget hosts noticeably tick-hitch. RAM: 8 GB for vanilla 10-player, 12 GB for modded 16-player, 16+ GB for 32-player overhaul communities.

50+ Overhaul Mods

Major Overhauls

Darkness Falls

Complete overhaul adding class systems (warrior, scientist, farmer, bandit), custom bosses with unique loot, extended endgame progression beyond vanilla, demon zombies, nightmare difficulty tiers, and hundreds of new items/recipes. Most popular 7DTD overhaul.

Undead Legacy

Reworks crafting and looting systems with realistic item progression, expanded farming and cooking mechanics, vehicle customization, improved zombie AI with special infected types, and rebalanced economy system. Focus on realism and immersion.

Ravenhearst

Extreme difficulty overhaul with brutal survival mechanics, complex crafting chains requiring extensive material gathering, hardcore zombies with devastating attacks, permadeath options, and ruthless horde nights. For experienced players seeking maximum challenge.

All major overhaul mods are selectable at checkout or switchable from the panel. We handle pre-download and configuration alignment automatically—no manual modlet installation or XML editing required. Each overhaul comes with pre-configured templates optimized for multiplayer performance.

Horde Night Customization

Gameplay Systems

7 Days to Die's signature mechanic is the horde night—every 7th night, massive waves of zombies attack your base testing your defensive preparations. Visual horde-night customization sliders in the panel let you adjust frequency (every 3, 5, 7, or 14 days), zombie count per wave, special infected spawn rates, and horde behavior (direct assault vs roaming patterns).

The voxel building system supports full structural integrity calculations—every block placed requires proper support from foundations or nearby structures. Build wooden forts, concrete bunkers, or elaborate maze-trap systems. Destructible terrain means zombies can dig, break walls, and collapse poorly-supported structures during horde nights.

Map support includes Navezgane (handcrafted 16km² map with named cities and POIs) and Random Gen (procedurally generated worlds with configurable size from 4km² to 16km², biome distribution, city density, and wilderness ratio). Switch between maps from the panel with preserved save data per map.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How many players can a 7 Days to Die server host?+

32 players is the official cap. All our plans support 32 slots; smaller plans are for smaller communities that don't need the headroom.

Is 7DTD cross-platform?+

Yes — PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 all support crossplay on current-gen editions (post-1.0).

Can I run Darkness Falls or Undead Legacy?+

Yes. All major overhaul mods (Darkness Falls, Undead Legacy, Ravenhearst, War of the Walkers) are selectable at checkout or switchable from the panel.

Why does CPU matter for horde nights?+

Horde nights spawn hundreds of zombies simultaneously, each pathfinding through voxel terrain. The simulation hits one CPU core hard — high single-thread performance (our Ryzen 9 nodes) keeps tick rates stable where slower CPUs visibly hitch.

Do 7DTD console and PC players share worlds?+

Dedicated server worlds from our infrastructure support crossplay between all three current-gen platforms (PC Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS5). Last-gen console editions are separate.

Does the server support Navezgane and random-gen maps?+

Both. Navezgane is the default handcrafted map; random-gen creates fresh worlds with configurable size and biome balance. The panel exposes map selection as a dropdown.
