Icarus is RocketWerkz's co-op survival game set on a failed-terraformed alien planet. Up to 8 players drop in, complete timed 'Prospect' missions (scavenge, craft, extract before the atmosphere turns toxic), or play persistent Open World saves with no time pressure. Released in late 2021 with regular content updates, it now has a large content library including multiple maps (Olympus, Styx, Prometheus), week-long New Frontiers, and dozens of crafting trees.
Icarus dedicated servers work for both Prospect-style sessions (timed missions with extraction) and Open World (persistent saves, no timer). Our template ships with both modes preconfigured; switching is a panel dropdown. Steam Workshop modding is supported, and the panel's file manager handles the Icarus mod format with drag-and-drop.
Icarus is moderately RAM-hungry for a small-party game: 6 GB handles 8-player vanilla comfortably, 8–12 GB recommended for Open World with heavy base construction or mod loads. Single-thread CPU performance drives weather simulation and AI — our Ryzen 9 nodes keep tick rates stable during storms and raids where budget CPUs hitch. Saves grow with base size; NVMe disk speed matters during extract/re-entry.
