Aloft is a sky-island survival and exploration game from Astrolabe Interactive, launched in Early Access in 2025. You build and steer your own floating island around a procedurally generated archipelago, collecting seeds, farming, crafting, taming creatures, and flipping corrupted islands to cure them. Up to 8 players can share a single persistent world.
Because the whole world is your island, Aloft's dedicated server model keeps your sky-base persistent between sessions. That includes farm growth, crafting queues, tamed creatures, and the islands you've flipped — no more losing progress because the host went offline.
Server requirements are modest for the small player cap: 4–6 GB RAM handles an 8-player server comfortably. We preconfigure the expected UDP ports, crossplay settings (PC-only at launch), and a daily backup schedule. Aloft uses Unity under the hood, which means single-thread CPU performance matters — another area where our Ryzen 9 nodes pull ahead of budget hosts.
